One of the first things you will need to do when get your Android device, is to sign in with your Gmail account. If you don’t have an account, this poses a problem because, if you don’t have a Gmail account you can’t get any apps from the Android Market.
You can create an account either by going to Gmail.com and filling out the information, or by opening the Market or Gmail application on your device. Below is a walk through on your device.
Step 1. Start by opening either the Gmail or Android Market application. You will see a screen similar to this asking you to login or create an account. We will press create account.
Step 2. Fill in your first and last name. Then, you will need to decide what your email address will be. If you are not going to use this account for anything, just make up a name randomly. I would seriously consider actively using your Gmail account because of the way it will integrate with your Android phone.
Step 3. Choose a password. The password needs to be 8 characters . It is also a good idea to add in a symbol or numbers to make the password more secure.
Step 4. You will need to create a secret question and answer. In this screen, you will also need to type a secondary email address. These are both secure options to recover your password in case you forget your Gmail password and can’t login.
Step 5. Read and agree tpo the Terms of Service
Step 6. Repeat the letters in the Capcha
Step 7. Congrats! You are now the proud owner of a Gmail account.
Step 8. Choose what information you want to sync with your Android device.
As I mentioned above, it is worth your time to use Gmail along with Google Calendar and Google Contacts. All of these web applications will sync automatically with your Android device seamlessly.
