Adding your internet provider’s email when its actually Gmail [Android Basics]

Many ISPs are using Gmail these days. Because of that, there is some confusion with the setup. Here are the settings to add your Internet Service Provider (ISP) email to an Android phone.

These directions are if you are using the Mail or Email application. Many times you can skip all of this setup by using the Gmail for Android application.

The following settings can be either POP3 or IMAP in many cases. Where you see POP or POP3, replace it with IMAP.

Enter in your email address and password into the first screen.

Incoming Server

username@provider.net

Password

POP3

pop.gmail.com

ssl 995

 

Outgoing Server

username@provider.net

Password

smtp.gmail.com

ssl 465
